The BET Awards 2022 was truly Culture’s Biggest Night! The ceremony held on Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California was filled with iconic performances and viral-worthy moments. Amongst the highlights of the night included Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, making a surprise appearance to honor BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The multi-hyphenate entertainer left viewers on the edge of their seats when he stepped on stage to honor Diddy’s legacy while wearing a black face mask, black baseball cap, and a stylish leather jacket by Hood By Air.

Hood by Air—HBA for short—was founded by Brooklyn-based designers Shayne Oliver and Raul Lopez in 2006. Lopez left the HBA shortly after the brand’s first official fashion presentation at OAK NYC in 2009.
The award-winning brand has since gained popularity for its gender-neutral garments, oversized silhouettes, logos emblazoned looks, and overall brand message of diversity and empowerment.
“I think in order to be successful, you have to fill a void that is not being spoken to, either personal or one that lives globally,” Oliver told SSENSE about what he believes makes a brand successful. “You need to want to say something.”
Despite taking a hiatus, the edgy and luxury streetwear brand continues to have a strong fan base with celebrities like Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Madonna, Wendy Williams, and supermodel Naomi Campbell spotted rocking the looks from previous collections.
Fast forward to last night, fans quickly took to the Hood by Air website to see if Ye's oversized leather hoodie was available to shop. Unfortunately, we were not able to find it.
