Plot Twist! Twitter Pulls Receipts On Nick Cannon After He Jumped To Defend Kevin Hart’s Homophobic Tweets

This is getting uglier by the minute.

Nick Cannon made headlines yesterday (December 7) after he began questioning why white female celebrities aren’t crucified about homophobic language at the same rate or velocity as black males.

  • In defense of Kevin Hart, who stepped down from hosting The Oscars after past tweets using homophobic language were unearthed and brought to the forefront, it sparked the Wild ‘N Out host to retweet tweets by Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman and Amy Schumer which all contained slurs against gay people.

Aside from the fact that these women WERE criticized at the time those initial tweets were discovered, Cannon may have wanted to look at his own Twitter past for clarity on his current stance about all of this.

Twitter user @anthoknees posted two screenshots of Nick Cannon tweets from 2010 and 2012. One questions why black men are “so homophobic” while the other criticizes the use of homophobic slurs. The Twitter user also asks why Cannon simply just hold Kevin Hart accountable, rather than try to steer the conversation toward other people.

  • “I don’t like any of the white women you ‘exposed’ lol,” the social media user wrote in a follow up tweet. “So do you. But how you gonna go after white women because a Black man was wrong, @NickCannon ?”

Other people replied with their own takes, mostly clowning Nick and suggesting he fall back.
