The Slick Way Carmelo Anthony Handled a Heckler

Melo directed the fan's anguish to the Knicks' owner.

It's hard being a New York Knicks fan.

After going a franchise-worst 17-65 last year, the wheels have come off this 2015-16 season, too, with the squad losing 15 of its last 18 games and well below .500 at 25-37.

All this leads to a lot of frustration and during Tuesday night's home game against the Portland Trail Blazers, one fan just wouldn't let up on Carmelo Anthony and his Knicks, peppering the NBA All-Star with one insult after another.

That's when Melo had enough.

"Look, the owner's right there," Anthony told ESPN about what he told the fan, passing the buck to Knicks owner James Dolan. "Ask for your money back."

Well, that's one way to handle a heckler, right?

"He kept calling my name, calling my name, saying, 'You guys suck, you guys suck,'" Anthony continued telling ESPN after yet another Knicks loss. "At that point, I was trying to gather myself, and I turned around. All I did was point at Dolan and told him, 'Look, the owner's right there. Ask for your money back.' He's calling me and telling me he's never coming to another game and we suck. Just don't want to hear that. I pointed to the owner and told him, 'You deal with that with him. Maybe you can get your money back.'"

And that's how bad it is with the Knicks right now... so bad that when a heckler wants his money back, the squad's star let's him know how to get it.

The frustration has more than set in.
