Gunna Teases New Music With Offset

The collaboration would be the YSL rapper’s first since being released from jail in December 2022.

After entering an Alford plea in the YSL RICO case in December, Gunna may be dropping a new collaboration with Offset, his first since being released from prison.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday (March 12), Gunna shared several high-fashion photos with Offset appearing in some of the slides.

Although he is still considered controversial because of the ongoing YSL RICO case that involves Young Thug, Gunna maintains that he did not snitch on any member of his crew.

“When I became affiliated with YSL in 2016, I did not consider it a ‘gang’; more like a group of people from metro Atlanta who had common interests and artistic aspirations,” Gunna wrote in a statement at the time, according to Complex. “My focus of YSL was entertainment – rap artists who wrote and performed music that exaggerated and ‘glorified’ urban life in the Black community.”

“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” his statement continued.

Despite Gunna being a polarizing figure, his success as a rapper has not been thwarted. Last year, Gunna released “A Gift & a Curse”  which had no guest appearances, debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart, and was his fifth top-ten album in total. Also, his single “Fukumean” became his first Billboard Hot 100 top 10 song.

As for Offset, he recently launched his first-ever solo headline run, "SET IT OFF TOUR." His itinerary includes stops in Philadelphia, Silver Spring, and New York City.

In the announcement of the tour, the former Migos member shared his excitement about doing shows as a solo artist for the first time.

“SET IT OFF is more than a phrase, it’s a vibe we’re creating together. This tour is not just a series of concerts, it’s a journey into my mind,” Offset explained. “I’m ready to hit the road on my first solo headlining tour, bringing the heat and most importantly, giving the fans a new way to experience my music.”
