Styles P Steps In to Defend Black Woman Being Accosted By Police

The Yonkers MC has trended for protecting someone being detained by police.

The Lox’s Styles P has become a trending topic after a video has gone viral of him stepping in to protect a Black woman being detained by police.

First surfacing yesterday afternoon, July 12, the visual shows the unidentified woman being taken down to the ground by two police officers allegedly in the rapper’s hometown of Yonkers, New York. Her apparent moped can be seen laying on the ground near her.

As she is being handcuffed by police, another woman begins to film and then shout at the officers, telling them that she is recording the somewhat violent arrest. After repeatedly telling the officers that she’s not resisting arrest, Styles P appears on the scene.

“Yo! He’s a b***h,” the rapper is heard telling one of the other officers standing around. Then he tells the woman filming to keep recording.

“Yo, sista, loosen up,” he tells the woman being detained, in an attempt to deescalate the situation for her while extending a hand to try and help.

“You's a f*****g h*e,” he then tells one of the officers. “You a whole b***h.”

The officer stands up and begins to approach the “I Get High” rapper who immediately raises his hands and says, “I’mma back up. Don’t touch me.”

“Keep recording me,” Styles directs the woman recording. “You slammed a girl! For no reason!” he then shouts at the officer.

As the video continues, Styles is seen standing his ground against the officer, eventually moving to the other side of the woman being detained.

His actions have been applauded on social media, while it goes without saying that standing up for Black women against all odds is the mode we all should be on.
