Former first couple Barack and Michelle Obama are the epitome of collective wokeness. Former POTUS brought the nation to tears as he discussed things like the senseless murder of Trayvon Martin, while his wife, former FLOTUS advocated for the education of young girls and fought to tackle childhood obesity with her Let’s Move initiative.
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith
Will Smith’s 2015 boycott of the Academy Awards helped spawn the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite denouncing the award show’s failure to nominate a single Black actor for two consecutive years.
