Trayvon Martin Foundation Receives $50,000 Scholarship Donation

The Trayvon Martin Foundation was presented with a $50,000 scholarship donation from a number of Florida organizations on Saturday.

The Trayvon Martin Foundation was presented with a $50,000 scholarship donation on behalf of a few generous Florida organizations on Saturday, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

In 2014, the funds will be awarded to four graduating seniors of Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School in Miami, where Trayvon attended before his death in 2012. The donors include Boyland Auto Group, Invictus Law Group, Delta Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Boyz-4-Lyfe, a group of long-time friends.

"Our aim is to really make this a nonpolitical, positive contribution to this tragic situation," Hayden Ridore' of Invictus Law Group said. "However it turned out legally, it's something that young kids can learn from.… We want to make sure this young man's death is not in vain."
