‘The Real’ Host Loni Love Throws Shade At Whoopi Goldberg After ‘The View’ Disses Her Emmy Win

Looks like a battle of the daytime talk shows is brewing.

The ladies of The Real recently earned their very first daytime Emmy Award in the category for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Hosts. While it appeared as most of the ladies' competitors in the category were genuinely congratulatory in regards to their win, one of them seems to be playing the sore loser card: the cast of The View.

During a recent episode of The View, main co-host Whoopi Goldberg posed a question to her co-workers that sparked a blatantly jealous response from just about all of them.

"One of the interesting things we're talking about really is how people perceive shows like ours," Goldberg said. "But there isn't another show like ours, is there?"

Co-host Joy Behar chimed in, adding, "Well, they copy us. There's a couple out there that copied us, 'cause we started that... They don't do a child having a tantrum and politics. That's what we do."

Visibly disgruntled and salty right-wing representative Meghan McCain snarkily added, "We also get to talk about real issues and debate like Americans do."

After learning of the ladies' subliminal dig at her and her co-hosts' recent major win, The Real co-host Loni Love took to Instagram to stress that while they don't tackle political topics head on on their program, they "talk to the people" and have fully earned their trophy.

"The Real has fourth of the budget that The View has but we continue to highlight women with the hot line bling calls and give exposure to things that effect [sic] women of color," she wrote. "They can keep talking to politicians but we talk to the people!!!"

Take a look at the clip, below:

The View has been nominated for several Daytime Emmy awards throughout the years — from 1997 to 2018 — but have only won in the category for Outstanding Talk Show Hosts once, in 2009.
