Love takes on some pretty heavy risks, like heartbreak, loss, regret, and for Cardi B’s new “Be Careful” visual, even death.

The Grammy-nominated Bronx femcee unleashed the music video for the second single from her Invasion of Privacy debut album on Monday (May 21) following a brief Instagram hiatus (and spring cleaning). The narrative-driven video tells a harrowing tale of love’s fatal consequences, as the beautiful bride Cardi goes from wedding to widow after warning her groom of the losses he’ll take from his infidelity, including her, and formidably his life, too.

Ironically, the days of his wedding and death ceremony happen to be at the same location as well: a church, symbolizing a holy matrimony turned mortality, which Bardi epitomizes by way of a cross she digs atop his grave in the finale scene of the visual.

“Be Careful” shows the Bardi Gang leader at her most vulnerable and vicious elements, a stark variation from other glitzy, braggadocios videos like “Bartier Cardi,” “Bodak Yellow,” and even her ‘90s flair cameo in Bruno Mars’ “Finesse (Remix).”

And the internet is stunned at all four minutes and nine seconds of it.
