Fans were introduced to singer-songwriter Ambré with the release of her 2015 debut project Wanderlust and since then, she’s gradually becoming the artist you want to put on your radar.

In a short time, the musician has already worked with several of the industry’s top artists, earned herself a record deal, and even scored one of the highest honors in the business. Amber is carving her path toward becoming a prominent figure in the music industry. Get to know the rising artist with these interesting facts.

  • She naturally gravitated to the art of making music

    During an interview with Billboard, the “Gucci Slides” singer opened up about her love for music, revealing that is happened, “naturally.” “I just always loved music. Everybody knows in my family — since I was a kid, I always loved to sing and stuff, “ she told the outlet.

  • She grew up listening to a variety of artists

    Not only did Ambré grow up singing in her local church and school choir, but she also listened to prolific artists like Nat King Cole, Nina Simone, Brandy, Frank Ocean, and rappers like Andre 3000 and Kendrick Lamar.

  • She described her sound as “psychedelic”

    When the “3 Peat” singer began her music journey she initially wanted to be a rapper.  “So I always try to be super-melodic, and my cadences, I try to do some different stuff with it,” she explained. “Also, I used to play trombone, so I feel like I have a naturally rhythmic cadence or whatever. But I think I’m a mix of soulful with some, I don’t know, new age.

  • She’s written for H.E.R.

    “With H.E.R., pretty much every time we have a session, we’ll talk for honestly two hours or something like that — and just, ‘How you doing, what’s going on with your life,’ or whatever,” she said of their writing process. “Usually, from that conversation, it would spark something creatively, and we might write a song about it.”

  • She grew up in the foster system

    At the age of four, Ambré was in and out of different home and schools after being put in foster care. It’s unclear what led her there.
