K. Michelle Takes on Racial Stereotypes With Album Title

It's called I Ain’t White But I Hope You Like.

Following in the path of the Rebellious Soul and Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart LPs, the title of K. Michelle’s forthcoming album makes a statement all its own.

Yet love and relationship woes aren't the only things on her mind. This time around, Michelle addresses racial stereotypes with the album's title, I Ain’t White But I Hope You Like.

The name may be her most bold commentary on the subject, but Michelle has long talked about racial pigeonholing within music. She's expressed personal frustrations with being branded as one particular genre, and in July declared: “I’m not an R&B artist.”

Michelle's hasn't revealed the drop date for I Ain't White But I Hope You Like.
