Afro Latinx Love: See Cardi B, Mack Wilds, Amara La Negra And More Of Our Favorites For National Hispanic Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) celebrates both Hispanic and Latinx people in the United States. It highlights the heritage, history, culture, accomplishments, legacies, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx Americans. We wanted to give a special shout out to some of our brothers and sisters that are representing for both Latinx and Black cultures.
As we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, take a look at some of our favorite Afro-Latinx family members that we adore!
Amara La Negra
Amara La Negra tiene la tumbao! The proud Afro-Dominican woman has been using her voice to advocate for the Afro-Latinx community since joining the cast of Love and Hip-Hop: Miami.
Juju C.
Born Juliet "JuJu" Castaneda, the beautiful Afro-Cuban reality star has been active in teaching her 2.9M Instagram followers that it is possible to be both Black and Latina at the same time.
Victor Cruz
If it wasn’t obvious before, retired football player, Victor Cruz comes from an Afro-Latino background. His mother is Puerto Rican, while his father is African-American.

N.O.R.E, formerly known as Noreaga, is proud to claim his Blackness and Puerto Rican heritage. Besides speaking out about how more Black representation is needed within the Latinx community, the rapper dropped hits in Spanglish like “Oye Mi Canto”!
